Well, yesterday was our big adventure- Booz Allen Hamilton Day at Six Flags America! We were going to leave Ethan with Paul's cousins, but decided it was asking too much of them, so we brought him along. It ended up being loads of fun, and he was so good the whole time! It was only at the very end of the day, about a quarter till four, that he had a meltdown waiting to go on the truck ride again. So we bolted after that. His favorite part was definitely the water park. We made him go down a couple of kiddie water slides, but he wasn't really into that too much. He even slipped on the tile in the pool and fell completely under, but he recovered pretty well. He really liked being splashed in the wave pool and playing with those little fountains that spurt up out of the ground. At one point he found a gigantic beach ball (it was at least two feet taller than he was) and had a blast rolling and pushing it all over the place- putting it in the wave pool and watching it drift back to him. Really cute. We had to carry him away from the water park- he would have stayed there all day if we'd let him!

We were there for about five hours total, so of course Ethan didn't take a nap. Hence the tantrum at the truck ride. As soon as we got out onto the street in the car, he was out! We ran into some traffic on the way home so he was kind of in and out of consciousness the rest of the way. Then he was a turd when we got home and was super whiney, but finally mellowed after we got some milk in him. All in all the trip was totally worth it and we're really glad we brought Ethan. Neither of us went on any rollercoasters, which is a bit of a bummer, but we had a blast with little guy anyway. Paul is now using this as proof that Disneyland wouldn't be a total nightmare this Christmas. Maybe he's right. But don't tell him I said that.
Here is Ethan on his first solo ride!! He loved going on this little train- so cute! I love the picture of him with his little head poking out; I circled his face so you could tell it was him. : )
