X-ray update

Dr. Johnson called yesterday afternoon and said everything looked good with Ethan's X-rays- no bony growths. Apparently he just has an "abnormal soft tissue growth" on his head. Eeeeeww. She said we'll just watch it for a while to see if it gets bigger or starts hurting him. If it does, we'll consider doing an u/s on it and possibly see a surgeon to have it removed.

So, thanks for thinking about our little guy! He's just got a weird-shaped melon head! : )

Ethan's two year check-up

Ethan went to the doctor this afternoon for his check-up and he is one BIG boy! He weighs in at 35 pounds and is 36 inches tall. I think the nurse said he was 90th percentile for both, and has moved down to the 75th-90th percentile for head size. He also got a flu shot while we were there. The doctor is sending him for an X-ray on his skull to see what that weird bump on the back of his head is. She couldn't tell if it was just his bone or if it was a cyst or what. If the X-ray doesn't show anything she said they'd do an ultrasound next. I think we'll go for the X-ray tomorrow morning. I would've gone right after the appointment but he was screaming bloody murder so I thought he'd had enough. Prayers and positive thoughts that the bump is nothing!

Overall our little guy is doing great and is very healthy. Thank goodness we don't have to go for another check-up until next year!

Happy birthday Ethan!!

Ethan turned TWO on Wednesday! Can you believe it?? I know I can't. He had a great day. Grandma and Grandpa King were here to celebrate with us, and we started the day with some swimming at the indoor pool. Ethan just loved that- even threw a fit as we were leaving! After pizza for lunch and a short nap, it was off to the movies to see "Happy Feet." None of the adults were overly impressed, but Ethan seemed to enjoy it! We then went to dinner at Logan's and all had a nice time together. And then it was cake and presents time!! Ethan didn't really understand the concept of opening a gift and then moving on to the next one- he got really upset when we'd try to take something away so he could open another gift. We've also learned that clothing should be opened first; otherwise, he will play with the toys he's already opened and have absolutely no interest in the clothes.

All in all Ethan had a wonderful day! Thanks everyone for calling with birthday wishes and for the great gifts. Our little man is a big boy now!!
