After Christmas sales!!!

Melanie and I went out shopping at the after-Christmas sales today and got some great stuff! I bought a few cute little outfits for Sadie for next year, and got some new wrapping paper, bows, and next year's Christmas cards. I also got this awesome storage thing to keep all the wrapping paper in- I'm so excited about that one! I've got my eye on a few other things, but am waiting to see if they go on even deeper clearance in a few days.

Cute little snowflake shirt from Old Navy

Snowflake outfit from Target- two pieces for $5 total!

Adorable snowflake pajamas from Children's Place

The aforementioned awesome storage bin

Christmas 2007

Virginia, there is a Santa Claus!

We had a wonderful Christmas this year! Everyone was so generous and made it such a special day for us. Thank you to all our family and friends for thinking of us! We spent Christmas Eve with our good friends the Hobbs, and it was so fun. Melanie way outdid herself and put on a great little party- we had a blast! Ethan was so wound up from playing with Blake and Grant that he had a hard time falling asleep for Santa, but finally passed out around 11:00. We all woke up around 7:30 Christmas morning, and Paul helped Ethan go through his stocking while I took Jabba for a walk. Then it was present time! It took us FOREVER to open everything, mainly because Ethan just wanted to play with each toy as he opened it; he couldn't be bothered to move on to the next one! But that's okay!! Anyway, we got some really nice things and Ethan LOVES all his new toys. It was a very lazy day and that was just fine with us. I made a nice Christmas dinner (we even busted out the good china, woohoo!) with roast beef, mashed potatoes, candied yams, and six cup salad- YUM!!! It was very nice and wasn't even that much work, which is even better. We had a great day and have really enjoyed spending time together this Christmas. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! We are so thankful for our Savior's birth and this time of year to reflect on His life and mission. We are truly blessed and feel our Heavenly Father's love for us daily. Wishing you all peace and love this Christmas, and a very healthy and happy New Year!!!

My latest project

So, as you all know, we have but two bedrooms in our house. Which means Sadie does not get a nursery to call her own. Which makes me terribly sad because I would have so much fun decorating it, but... what are you gonna do, right? Nesting instinct is beginning to kick in full force, so I had to do something for her, make a little nook that is hers. We are thinking that her bassinet will go where the computer desk is now (where all that stuff will go has yet to be resolved), so I decided to make a little something to make it feel more home-y for her (like she cares, I know, but I couldn't help myself).

So anyway, last month at our ward craft night we made these adorable letters that you decoupage with scrapbook paper. I made S-N-O-W with really pretty red and white snowflake paper and they turned out really well. I like them so much that I made some for Miss Sadie! I really like pink and brown together, and mixing and matching styles/patterns, so I chose this super cool brown/pink/green/purple paisley paper and a simple pink and white stripe. And voila! I think they look adorable! Paul's first reaction was "I really hope it's a girl." To which I replied "If it's not a girl, these little letters are the least of our worries!"

Happy 28th, Paul!!

We celebrated Paul's 28th birthday today, woohoo! It started with snowflake pancakes, which turned out awesome!! They're so cute!

Paul opened his card and was serenaded by the "Europe" classic, "The Final Countdown." Reminded us of Victor and his ring tone.

He got a very nice brown striped rugby from his parents.

They also got him this really nice external hard drive:

He got some other random things from me and a few other things from his parents, plus a really nice card from my parents and one from Bryce. He had his interview down at UVA this afternoon and said it went well, so it's nice to have that out of the way before Christmas. We had dinner at P.F. Chang's in Fairfax, and then came home to cake with homemade cream cheese frosting and Norwegian jam filling. All in all it was a pretty good birthday, I guess. The countdown is on till the big 3-0!!!

We love you, Pablo! You are a wonderful husband, father, friend, brother, son, and so many other things to so many people. 2008 will be a banner year for us! Mmmmmwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!

Our busy weekend!

Well, we had a really action-packed weekend. It was a lot of fun! It all started on Friday afternoon, when Ethan and I took the VRE (commuter train) into DC. Paul had a few free ride passes, which made it even better! The train was super nice and clean and there was hardly anyone else on it. Ethan had a BLAST watching all the scenery go by, hearing the train blow its whistle, etc. Whenever we stopped at a station and started to pull away, he would wave and yell "Bye bye, people!" So cute! We got into Union Station, and then found our way down to the Metro. Ethan was a little more freaked out by the Metro, but he really liked that it was underground, or as he says, in a tunnel. After transferring lines at Metro Center we arrived at the Smithsonian stop and walked over to the Natural History Museum to look at the dinosaurs. I gave him the choice of dinosaurs or airplanes and he chose dinosaurs (which was fine with me because the Nat. Hist. Museum is much closer to the Metro and it was really cold!). We got there and he had so much fun running around, just looking at everything. Whenever he saw a big skeleton, he would gasp and say "Oh my gosh!" It was hilarious!!! Paul picked us up at about 5:40 and we went back over to Union Station for the Norwegian Bazaar. That was fun, as always, and we blew a whole wad of cash on Melkesjokolade and other goodies. YUM!!!

On Saturday, we all slept in late and then decided to go eat breakfast at IKEA just for kicks. Unfortunately, we lolligagged too long at home and missed breakfast all together, so we settled for Swedish meatballs instead. Then we went to Old Town Alexandria and browsed the Crate & Barrel outlet, then drove around Old Town for old times' sake. After that we went to Clarendon and the real Crate & Barrel to buy our ornaments for this year (Paul and I buy each other an ornament every year). We hung out there for a little while and then went home and collapsed and watched The Polar Express on tv.

Sunday Paul and I had to give talks in Sacrament meeting, so Paul spent the whole morning writing his! I think it went pretty well- at least it's over! After church we went and had dinner with Paul's cousin Willy and his family, then we all went up to the DC temple to look at the lights. Ethan LOVED it!!! It was cold, but tolerable. We got some great pictures, too!

So, all in all it was a very busy three days for the Snow family! Today is recovery time!!
