Magic Time

Paul and Lauren saw the Raconteurs at 930 Club as an early birthday gift for her. Have to get all that "concert-ness" out of her system before the "mish." For those that want to relive the experience, the local NPR station has the local concert available online, along with 26 pictures, here: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=90769922. We recommend turning up the volume up enough that you feel like your ears (or is that your nose, Lauren?) are going to bleed. Then, turn off your lights, surround yourself by the white people that cannot dance and rock out. Magic time.

Two months young

Our sweet Sadie is two months old today. Where did the time go?? Wasn't I just in the hospital having her? Really, it's mind-blowing.

She is the light of our lives. I couldn't ask for a better baby, and she is so adorable to boot! She has started cooing like crazy, and is especially fond of the "g" sound, though she usually reserves that for when she's particularly upset. She sleeps really well at night and gets up once or twice to eat but then goes right back to sleep. Sadie LOVES her big brother and smiles at him all the time. It helps that he is equally in love with her.

As usual I took pictures to mark the occasion, so here they are. What can I say- we're smitten!!

Look at those beautiful (still blue!) eyes

What a cutie!

Reach out and touch someone!

I LOVE my big brother!!

The Evolution of Ethan Michael

Ethan will be three and a half tomorrow. I just thought I'd post a little slide show of Ethan as he's grown. I can't look too long or I get all misty-eyed!

What's YOUR super power?

This morning while Sadie was taking a nap, I broke out the breast pump. She hadn't eaten very well at her last feeding because she was so sleepy, so I was feeling the need to pump while she slept. The pump is located right next to the couch in the living room, so I sat down and started pumping away. Paul is working from home today so he was sitting across from me, working on his computer. Ethan was running around the downstairs, doing who knows what. When I was finished, I "removed" myself from the pump and held up the bottles of milk to see how much I'd gotten. Ethan came over and looked at the milk in the bottles, turned to Paul and said "Daddy! Mommy's all done peeing the milk for baby Sadie!" Nice. I guess that's the closest thing he can relate it to, but still.

So... apparently I defy the laws of nature. What can YOU do?!

This Old House

It's here! We got our new carpet installed yesterday and it looks AWESOME. It's so soft and plush, and best of all- it doesn't smell like dog. Almost makes me sad to be leaving. Almost.

And here are some pictures of the deck, which we repainted a few weekends ago. I just never got around to taking pictures because it's been raining like crazy. Sorry I didn't take a before picture because then you'd really be able to tell the difference this one lousy coat of paint made. So, Bob Vila, eat your heart out.

And here's just a dose of random cuteness for today. I LOVE when she makes this pouty face. It is about the cutest thing ever. I know it means she is sad and about to wail, but how could you not love that little lip sticking out?! SO CUTE!!!

Just a smile would lighten everything

Sadie is smiling!!! She was going crazy this morning, smiling every time I said "HI!" in a really high voice. So I just HAD to get it on film- so cute!!! I am so in love with her!
