Four-month-old cutie

It's that time again! Sadie is four months old, which means it's time for another round of pictures of our favorite little girl. She had her check-up this morning and she is rather petite- 12 pounds, 9 ounces and 24.5 inches long. Quite the difference from Ethan and his sumo-chunk. The doctor said not to worry about it and we'll just keep an eye on her to make sure her weight gain doesn't suddenly drop off the charts or anything. Everything else was fine; we need to do more to exercise her neck so she's not always looking to the left, and we're supposed to start her on vitamin drops (breastmilk is low in vitamins A, C and D). The doc also said to wait a month or two on cereal, which is fine. Sadie still has a rather strong tongue thrust reflex so I don't know if she'd take it anyway. She also had to get four shots and one oral vaccine. Poor baby. Other than that she is the picture of health! Our little cutie!!

Ah, the indignities one must suffer in the Snow household...

Whoa, these polka dots are blowing my mind...

Additional Pictures of Summer

At one point, we forgot to bring our digital camera on one of our outings with Lauren. So, we've been using up a digital camera on and off all summer. Thought we'd share some of the pictures from that camera.

C & O Canal Tour - Georgetown Stop - June 2008

We rode on a barge with Lauren in the C & O Canal National Park. It was great with a horse pulling the boat and the whole nine yards.

Lauren - National Cathedral - June 2008

National Arboretum - Washington, DC - June 2008

We also attended a kid's workshop at Home Depot. Held the first Saturday of each month, the workshop allows kids to build a toy - all while wearing a Home Depot apron.
We actually weren't planning on attending the workshop but just happened to be in the store. An employee convinced us to drop by and Ethan loved making a boat.

Ethan - Manassas, VA - June 2008

Niels & Ethan - Murray, UT - July 2008

Temple Square

During some of our down time in Salt Lake City, we decided to go siteseeing. Temple Square was about all we had time for, but it was great! Having never lived in Utah for any significant amount of time (Paul spent his freshman year at BYU but that doesn't really count), we have always been a little confused by the seemingly mystical allure of the Beehive State in Mormondom. But after this vacation we can understand it at least a little bit. It was pretty cool to have a temple every 20 minutes, to visit all the church historical sites, etc. We loved wandering around Temple Square. I think the coolest part was touring the new Conference Center- it was beautiful!! The weather was great, too. All in all it was a really fun trip but we are glad to be home now. Our poor kids are exhausted- we ran them RAGGED all week. Ethan slept in until noon today, and Sadie is currently in hour four of her "morning" nap. Guess they've got a lot of catching up to do!

The Newest Snow Family

We had the honor of attending Paul's brother's wedding this past Friday, July 11th. It was the first time we got to meet his bride, Leigh, and all of her family. We had the best time talking with Leigh and getting to know her a little better, welcoming her into the Snow clan. They were sealed in the Bountiful Temple; it was a beautiful ceremony, and the dinner afterwards was lovely. It was in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building in downtown SLC, with an *amazing* view of the Salt Lake Temple, right at sunset. Gorgeous! And the food was good, too. : )

Congratulations, Bryce and Leigh! We love you and wish you a lifetime of happiness and wonderful memories.

Wastin' Away Again in Margaritaville

We had a BLAST in Florida with the Kings/Haskells this past week! The house was beautiful, the kids had a great time playing in the water, the adults had fun catching up. There was a fresh water lake just steps away from the ocean, which is where Ethan preferred to play. The sea water was full of green algae, so it was kind of gross to swim in anyway (but beautiful to look at). Poor Ethan spent too much time in the water on Monday morning and got a burn on the whites of his eyes- he looked like Satan's spawn or something, with these beet red eyes. Poor kid! We got him some Visine, sunglasses and a hat; he finally looked normal after a few days (just in time for Uncle Bryce's wedding!).

It was fun playing with Finley and Maddie, and we loved meeting Claudia's new boyfriend Alex. My aunt and uncle came down from Buffalo as well, which was sooo fun. All the kids had a great time with Grandma and Grandpa K! We can't wait to see everyone again soon!!

The last night we were there, Claudia and Alex came up with this super cute idea of "finding" a treasure map and digging up the treasure. So we found a bottle with a map, walked all over the beach, then finally found the "X" on the sand and Ethan and Finley worked hard to dig up the treasure. It was so cute!
